Formerly known as Azim Bagh or Bagh-e-Azeem, this 16th century heritage park complex is situated opposite Humayun’s Tomb at Nizamuddin, New Delhi.

One could find several Mughal era structures like – Sunderwala Burj, Sundarwala Mahal, Lakkarwala Burj etc. within the complex, which have been granted UNESCO World Heritage status. The name of the park comes from the Sunderwala Burj situated in the same premises.

Spreading over 90 acres (36 hectare) of land, this park was dedicated to public in February 2018 after renovation which was started in the year 2007 as a part of the larger Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Project master plan of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture involving restoration of 30 nearby heritage structures.

Considered as Delhi’s first arboretum, this heritage park contains over 300 types of trees.
