Located at Nizamuddin (West), New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah is the Mausoleum of the 13th Century Sufi Saint Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya (1238–1325). Well known for its evening Qawwalis, Dargah is visited by thousands of people every day.
Originally built by Muhammad bin Tughluq in 1325, the main structure underwent many additions/alterations over the years. The present dome was built by Faridun Khan in 1962. The complex was restored and renovated by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in India around 2010.
The Jamat Khana Masjid, built of red sandstone somewhere between 1312-1313, is also situated within the Dargah complex. A Baoli (stepwell) commissioned by Nizamuddin himself in 1321 is also located at the back side of the dargah.
The complex has more than 70 graves. Tombs of Amir Khusrau, Nizamuddin’s disciple and Emperor Shah Jahan’s daughter Jehan Ara Begum are also located at the entrance of the complex.
