Dargah Matka Peer, New Delhi : Dargah of Hazrat Sheikh Abu Bakar, popularly known as Baba Matka Peer, a 13th century Sufi saint of the Qalandari order is situated on a small hillock along the busy Mathura Road near Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

It is believed that the Sufi Saint, who was from Iran, had migrated to India in 1257 (655 hijri) CE and chose to reside at this place. It is said that he had a silver pot filled with water and to whoever he offered this water, his/her problems got resolved especially if the person was facing some serious health issue.

One can see lots of earthen pots hanging from a dried out keeker tree within the Dargah premises. Although the same is situated on a busy Mathura road, I found the place quite peaceful, where one can sit and pray in peace.
